Demotions and Disciplinary Actions

There will be cases where Disciplinary action against an officer must be taken. Do not give these out lightly. Disciplinary Actions are meant to teach and encourage to better you as an officer, try to use these opportunities.

Verbal or Written Warning

A member of officer or higher may call upon the officer in question who committed a SOP break or another offense and get together to discuss the situation. Based on the conversation and severity of the incident, a verbal or written warning can be issued and will be noted.

24, 48 or 72 hour suspension

An officer may suspend somebody for 24 hours, while Command may suspend for up to 72 hours. This can include removal of certifications in lieu of suspensions.

Termination

When an officer commits a serious SOP break, major felonies or has shown other extreme and unacceptable behavior, they may be terminated at any point.
