Director General of Police (DGP)

  • Head of the Entire Police department, works closely with city government officials

  • Responsible for ensuring Captains have the tools and equipment to lead their divisions

  • Responsible for budgeting, complaints and maintaining records & legal documents

Additional Director General of Police (ADGP)

  • Second in command with the same duties and responsibilities of the Chief

  • Acts as Chief when the head of the Police is unavailable

Inspector General of Police (IGP)

  • Head of a division within the KCPD

  • Responsible for handling complaints and maintaining records & legal documents

  • Can issue indefinite suspension, sending off duty, verbal discipline/correction

Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG)

  • Role models in the community, actively mentor lower ranks

  • Have a keen ability for leadership and have strong public relationship skills

  • Filter complaints and issues to their Captains

  • Can issue indefinite suspension, sending off duty, verbal discipline/correction

Assistant Inspector General of Police(AIG)

  • Experienced officers with strong leadership and public relationship skills

  • Role models in the community, actively mentor lower ranks

  • Must have been Senior FTO, Class 3 and CID certifications.

  • Can issue up to 72 hours suspension, mandatory counseling, sending off duty, verbal discipline/correction

Superintendent of Police (SP)

  • Experienced officers with strong leadership and public relationship skills

  • Role models in the community, actively mentor lower ranks

  • Must have FTO certification and work closely with cadets

  • Can issue up to 48 hours suspension, mandatory counseling, sending off duty, verbal discipline/correction

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP)

  • Are an NCO, expected to supervise the lower ranks*

  • Expected to answer questions, guide and assist in the training of recruits

  • Filters grievances and concerns to the Sergeants

  • Can issue up to 24 hours suspension, sending off duty, verbal discipline/correction

Inspector (INS)

  • Expected to lead by example, showing troopers how to handle tough situations

  • Working towards moving to NCO & start leading and supervising other troopers*

  • Filter complaints and concerns to Master Troopers

  • Can issue verbal discipline/correction with troopers & cadets in a private setting

Constable (PC)

  • The foundation of the KCPD

  • Responsible for day to day tasks from patrolling to paperwork

  • Specializes in one of the divisions of the SASP

  • Brings concerns and issues to Senior Troopers

Recruit

  • Have passed Academy and Exam

  • Partner with FTOs until they achieve promotion to Trooper

  • Brings concerns and issues to Troopers or Senior Troopers
